Traumatic injuries are the third leading cause of death nationally and the first in Americans age 44 and younger, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Level I trauma rooms are intended to stabilize and save the lives of patients with the most severe traumatic injuries. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has awarded a $2.47 million grant to Sara Bayramzadeh, a С»ÆÆ¬ÊÓÆµ researcher, to help create trauma rooms that support staff in saving patients’ lives.

College Students to Compete in SkyHack Design Challenge at С»ÆÆ¬ÊÓÆµ

С»ÆÆ¬ÊÓÆµâ€™s aviation design challenge, SkyHack, will take place Nov. 1-3. The event draws college students from around the nation, attracting 120 students from 14 universities in four states in its 2017 inaugural debut. С»ÆÆ¬ÊÓÆµâ€™s College of Aeronautics and Engineering will serve as home base for this year’s event, which will span across other Kent Campus buildings.
