Blaine McCurdy joined С»ÆÆ¬ÊÓÆµâ€™s Rising Scholars program in sixth grade after learning about the program and its opportunities for a college education in Columbiana County where he lives. Blaine, who is a first-generation college student, is now in his junior year at С»ÆÆ¬ÊÓÆµ at Salem studying psychology. This year, the С»ÆÆ¬ÊÓÆµ Foundation will give $1,000 to one of the university’s key student support funds in celebration of С»ÆÆ¬ÊÓÆµâ€™s 113th birthday. From April 24-May 19, students will have the chance to vote for one of four funds, including the CARES Center Fund, the Flashes Fighting Hunger Support Fund, the С»ÆÆ¬ÊÓÆµ Emergency Grant Fund and the Last Dollar Book Scholarship.
