Blaine McCurdy joined С»ÆƬÊÓƵ’s Rising Scholars program in sixth grade after learning about the program and its opportunities for a college education in Columbiana County where he lives. Blaine, who is a first-generation college student, is now in his junior year at С»ÆƬÊÓƵ at Salem studying psychology. Sara Bayramzadeh, Ph.D., The Elliot Professor in Healthcare Design in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design was featured in Healthcare Design magazine for her leadership in the healthcare design program. This year, the С»ÆƬÊÓƵ Foundation will give $1,000 to one of the university’s key student support funds in celebration of С»ÆƬÊÓƵ’s 113th birthday. From April 24-May 19, students will have the chance to vote for one of four funds, including the CARES Center Fund, the Flashes Fighting Hunger Support Fund, the С»ÆƬÊÓƵ Emergency Grant Fund and the Last Dollar Book Scholarship.
