Hi, Drupalites!
This notice is coming on very short notice and we sincerely apologize for that. A critical security patch has been identified for our Drupal platform that requires an expedited upgrade this Sunday morning. The nature of security vulnerabilities means we have a narrow window to act, and unfortunately that leaves little time for the kind of advance notice we'd prefer to give.
We've completed as thorough an audit as possible given this tight deadline, but with the size of the university's web presence, there's a chance we may have missed something, which is where your help is invaluable.
What we're asking of you:
- If you're able to act before Sunday morning, please review your website on our staging environment at . This will give you a pre-upgrade baseline to compare against after the update is applied.
- After Sunday morning, please review your site at www.kent.edu. For comparative purposes, the staging environment will remain available at so you can reference pre-upgrade behavior side by side if needed.
- If you are out of office or unable to review the website before this weekend, note that you will still be able to review the updated website at www.kent.edu and compare it to .
If you notice anything that doesn't look right, including missing styles, unexpected functionality, or other irregularities, please to the University Web Team and we'll prioritize a response.
We recognize this isn't an ideal situation, and we appreciate your understanding and partnership in helping us keep the platform secure. Thank you for your patience and quick attention to this.
Best,
Web Team
