Dear Members of the С»ÆƬÊÓƵ Community,
I am pleased to announce the appointment of James (Jim) Raber, Ph.D., as С»ÆƬÊÓƵ’s vice president for information technology and chief information officer, effective June 16. Jim has served in this role on an interim basis since Feb. 7.
Prior to his interim appointment, Jim served as associate vice president and chief technology officer in the Division of Information Technology, where he provided leadership for the division’s Security, Infrastructure, Research and Technology, and Support teams. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated a thoughtful, collaborative and steady leadership style that has earned the trust and respect of colleagues across the university.
As technology continues to evolve rapidly – particularly with the growing influence of artificial intelligence and increasing cybersecurity and IT challenges – strong leadership in this area is more important than ever. Jim is exceptionally well qualified to guide us through this dynamic environment and to advance the university’s strategic technology priorities.
Please join me in congratulating Jim on his appointment and wishing him continued success in this important leadership role.
I also would like to thank chair Sean Broghammer, Ph.D., vice president for enrollment management, and the members of the search committee who conducted an outstanding national search process for this critical position.
Whether your summer activities have kept you on campus or away, I hope this season has provided opportunities for both productivity and renewal. Thank you for all you do for С»ÆƬÊÓƵ. I look forward to seeing you soon.
Sincerely,
Todd Diacon
President
