Why are the check-ins for KSU Kickoff important?

Attending your assigned check-in for KSU Kickoff is imperative to having a successful welcome week experience. At your check-in, you will meet with an assigned student Peer Success Mentor who will go over the basics of the KSU Kickoff mobile app, schedule of welcome events, your first Flashes 101 course, information on a variety of campus resources, and taking any of your questions. Your assigned check-in will be based on if you are either a first-time college student living on campus in a residence hall (residential student), a first-time college student commuting to campus (commuter student), or a transfer student new to С»ÆÆ¬ÊÓÆµ (transfer student). Based on your status, you will attend one of the below. Please note that there are no times assigned within these check-in periods and that attendance is tracked.

  • KSU Kickoff Residential Student Check-In (for incoming residential students only) | Thurs., Aug. 20, 3 - 8 p.m. 
  • KSU Kickoff Commuter Student Check-In (for incoming commuting students only) | Fri., Aug. 21, 8 - 9 a.m. 
  • Transfer Student Welcome (for incoming transfer students only) – Sun. Aug. 23, 3 - 5 p.m.
